Supporting fine woodworking

We’re delighted to announce that one of our evening receptions in Edinburgh is being kindly supported by Turcan Connell, a leader in legal and tax advisory services.

“We’re extremely grateful for this support, and from such a prestigious firm as Turcan Connell,” said Anselm Fraser, principal.

The graduate exhibition and sale of work will take place at Greyfriars Kirk (Greyfriars Place, Edinburgh EH1 2QQ).  On Monday 10th June the exhibition will run from 12 noon to 8pm, and on Tuesday 11th June from 10am to 8pm.

At the end of that week, on Friday 14th June, is an Open Evening at the school (Myreside Grange, Cockles Brae, Haddington EH41 4JA) from 6pm to 8pm, and an Open Day on Saturday 15th June (10am to 4pm).

Also at the Monday event, Professor Richard Demarco CBE will be awarding his fourth annual Demarco Prize 2019.

Professor Demarco is a leading arts commentator and advocate for contemporary art.

Richard is also honorary president of the Fine Furniture Guild, an association of alumni of the Chippendale school.

His annual prize recognises the student whose work best reflects art in furniture design.

The school’s Open graduation takes place on the evening of the Open Day, for family and friends only, with Martin Whitfield MP as our guest of honour.

“Our students have made some outstanding pieces of furniture, so do please come to one of our graduate events,” said Anselm Fraser.
