Cooking up a kitchen

Ruaraidh Stewart, originally from Aberdeenshire, is now successfully installed in incubation space at the school and has set up The Georgian Kitchen Company.

Ruaraidh, who graduated earlier this year, was a student who displayed real enterprise, managing to combine his studies alongside making two monumental wardrobes for a customer in Edinburgh.

Perhaps that sense of purpose is a reflection of his time as a soldier with the Black Watch (3 Scots) with whom he saw service in Afghanistan.

A new commission that he is soon to complete is a beech and oak kitchen for another customer in Edinburgh, requiring base and wall units and larger storage cupboards.

Ruaraidh is hoping to start installation within the next couple of weeks, and we’ll bring you photographs of the completed project.
